3 Ideas for an Epic Apple Keynote

Alright, so me and my iPhone 5S have been through some things. It can go dead at any moment (it prefers around 35%). It cuts off midway throughout my phone conversations. It erases all of my photos and contacts but then mysteriously reappears a month later (I still can't explain this one). I keep getting the "Storage Almost Full" message when I have been forced to use Maps, since I don't have enough memory to hold Maps and Google Maps at the same time (this has caused so many issues). At times, I can't even receive important text messages/phone calls from family and friends (they are ready for me to get a new phone too). The urgency of the upgrade is too real.

Rumor has it that the new iPhone (FYI Apple releases a new phone every September) will be released today during Apple's September keynote. *praise hands* I know I can't be the only one who needs a new phone. There has to be more people like me in the struggle. Don't worry; we are almost free!

I have watched a few keynotes from Apple, so I thought it would be fun to suggest some new ideas that could take this keynote to a whole new level with some #BlackGirlMagic .

1. Bring Back Boz

Now, the world saw the greatness of Bozoma Saint John, Apple Music’s Head of Global Consumer Marketing. She came on stage, and Twitter was on fire. Bozoma is the first woman of color to appear on the WWDC stage. She captivated the audience with her brilliance and quite frankly it stole the show. If Apple was smart, they would make her a keynote speaker again this year. Actually, just let her do the entire keynote.

2. Get Beyonce to Perform

I know, I know. It’s a stretch, but I remember two years ago when Apple brought U2 to perform (remember when that U2 album mysteriously appeared on all Apple devices...yea). However, Apple has always stayed connected when it comes to music, but having Beyonce perform would just. be. EVERYTHING. Twitter would crash with excitement, and a variety of  journalists, execs, developers, and guests would immediately join the Beyhive after they witnessed one of the greatest performers alive.

(It will never happen because Bey is with Tidal, but we all can dream. Also, I am not sure if they will let her break cameras, but Bey clearly gets her way with everything else so it could be possible)

3. Let Ava DuVernay direct the keynote closing video

The internet went bananas over the epic Apple Music commercial starring Kerry Washington, Taraji P. Henson, and Mary J. Blige. Well, it was directed by none other than the brilliant Ava DuVernay. (SN: Bozoma also made that happen #girlboss) Tim Cook usually closes his presentation with a video, so how lit would it be if Ava was in control of that too.

(SN: if you haven’t checked out her new show Queen Sugar on OWN, you are definitely missing out.)

While I still wait for my invite (It probably got lost in the mail or something), catch me on Twitter (@allthatiskim) at 10AM PST/1 PM EST where we will all bring our commentary on the new products and updates that Apple has up their sleeve.
